Great Grandfather JamesBlyth

(Isabella’s father)

Isabella’s father, and his brothers  served on small “smacks” that sailed from Brightlingsea, Essex.

It is presumed that James somehow ended up inBeaumaris, Wales and settled there serving as a life boats man.  He was also listed as being a fisherman. This is where Isabella was born.

The two Friezes are in memory of his family lost in the North Sea.  They are on the wall of All Saint's Church, Brightlingsea, with many others who were lost at sea.  Their bodies were never found.

Interestingly the writer of these Friezes was named Arthur Blyth.  We do not know if there is a family connectioon.
